Since our founding, we’ve been practicing as a workers compensation law firm and more. We represented different clients needing our expertise primarily in the fields of personal injury, workers’ compensation, estate planning, probate, and guardianship. Formerly Eggerman Van Sandt LLP, Attorney Stephen A Eggerman has experience in handling specific real estate matters, and in employment law matters. He is assisted by Marie Stanescu (paralegal) and legal assistants Kieran Fitzpatrick and Jeanette Eggerman.

Stephen Eggerman: Attorney

Stephen A. Eggerman has more than 34 years of experience practicing law in Washington State. He started his trial lawyer career in the Office of the Attorney General appointed as an Assistant Attorney General representing the Department of Labor & Industries in workers’ compensation, personal injury, bankruptcy, and collections. When in law school, he worked as a law clerk under the Torts Division of the Attorney General’s office. From there Mr. Eggerman gained valuable litigation experience while representing the State of Washington and several legal firms. In 1995 he opened his own law firm as a Kirkland attorney with his former partner John VanSandt.

Stephen has successfully represented hundreds of clients with personal injury and workers’ compensation claims, estate planning, and probate, as well as helping individuals and businesses with real estate and other civil litigation matters. He has tried numerous cases in Superior Court and has argued matters in Washington State Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals and both of Washington’s Western and Eastern District Federal Courts.

Stephen received his BA from the University of Washington in Communications/Editorial Journalism in 1982 and received his J.D. at Seattle University Law School (formerly UPS Law School) three years later.

He serves as a King County Arbitrator and King County Settlement Guardian Ad Litem and King County Guardian Ad Litem. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Western and Eastern District Courts and U.S Court of Federal Claims. He is an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice and a member of the Public Affairs Committee. He was appointed to serve as the Committee chair of the Washington State Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the Public Affairs Committee of the Young Lawyers Division.

In addition to his work as a Kirkland attorney, Stephen is very active in the community. He is an active member of the Kirkland Downtown Rotary (past President) , the Kirkland Kiwanis (board member), and Knights of Columbus of St. John Vianney Church in Kirkland. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching various sports and is currently the boys and girls JV Tennis coach at Bothell High School. He enjoys playing basketball and tennis, and is an avid windsurfer and snowboarder. Stephen lives with his wife Jeanette who owns and operates Jeanette Eggerman Photography. They have two two adult children, Alysia (Monty) who live in Chicago, IL and Connor who lives in Portland, OR.
